Automatic capturePRO
Your bank already texts you the moment you pay. Monee takes that alert and turns it into a transaction — amount, merchant, date — before you have put your phone back in your pocket.
iOS Version 2.0 — rebuilt from the ground up
Monee is a personal expense manager built in the UAE. It turns your bank's purchase alerts into a clear, categorised picture of where your money goes — without a bank login, without your card details, and without selling a single thing about you.
Free to use. Pro adds automatic capture, budgets and deeper insights.
What it does
Most expense apps ask you to remember. Monee is built so that by the time you open it, the work is already done — and the few decisions left are the ones only you can make.
Your bank already texts you the moment you pay. Monee takes that alert and turns it into a transaction — amount, merchant, date — before you have put your phone back in your pocket.
Cash, a transfer, your salary. Record it in seconds, split one payment across categories when a single receipt covers several things, and mark money coming in as credit.
Categorise a merchant once and Monee groups the rest for you. Tags cut across the top — a holiday, a work trip, anything you will want to add up later without reorganising everything else.
Set a limit on groceries, on dining, on whatever keeps getting away from you. Every budget you set appears on the budgets screen from day one — at nought spent, with the whole limit still to go.
Where the month is going compared with the last one, which merchants take the most, which categories moved, and what is still sitting uncategorised. Numbers you can act on, not a wall of charts.
Turn it on and Monee locks the moment you leave it — before iOS even takes the picture it shows in the app switcher. Your spending is nobody else's business, including anyone holding your unlocked phone.
How it works
There is no onboarding maze and nothing to connect. The longest part takes about a minute, and you only do it once.
Sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and a password. Sign in with Apple works with Hide My Email — we never need to see your real address.
Add them yourself, or — on Pro — spend a minute setting up the automation that hands your bank's purchase alerts to Monee as they arrive. You can undo it at any time.
Tell Monee what a merchant is the first time it appears and it remembers. After that the dashboard, the budgets and the trends look after themselves.
The automation lives on your phone, in Apple's own Shortcuts app — an app Apple already put there. You build it once, and deleting it needs nothing from us.
Privacy
Monee has no access to your accounts, your balances, your card numbers or your banking credentials. We do not ask for them, and there is no screen in the app where you could give them to us even if you wanted to.
What follows is not a summary written by marketing. It is what the app does, stated the way it is stated inside the app itself, on the screen where you decide whether to turn message capture on.
Your phone decides, using words you type in yourself. Everything else in your Messages stays on your phone and never reaches us. Monee cannot read your other messages — and neither can we.
When a matching message is sent, our server reads the amount, the merchant and the date. Those three are saved to your account. The text of the message itself is not kept.
It travels over an encrypted connection, with your account identifier, so the transaction reaches your account and no one else's.
Delete the automation in Shortcuts, or withdraw your consent in the app. Either one ends it immediately, and neither needs anything from us.
Export everything Monee holds about you as a single file, from inside the app.
Delete account is a real deletion, not a flag on a row. It does not come back.
Our privacy policy lists every field we store, why we store it, and on what legal basis.
We do not sell your data and we do not sell advertising against it. Pro subscriptions are how Monee is funded.
Monee is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We use Google Firebase to keep the app running and to deliver the notifications you ask for; it receives your account identifier, and never your transactions. Everything we process, and the legal basis for it under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021, is set out in the privacy policy.
Pricing
The free version is a complete expense tracker, not a trial. Pro is for people who would rather not type anything in at all.

Pro
Monthly or yearly
Pro is an Apple subscription. Apple bills it, and you manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings — cancelling leaves it running to the end of the period you have already paid for. Changed phones? Restore purchases in your profile brings it back in one tap. Your data is never held hostage: it stays exactly where it is whether you subscribe, cancel, or never subscribe at all.
Straight answers
No. Monee has no access to your Messages, and iOS would not grant it.
What happens instead is that you build a rule on your own phone, in Apple's Shortcuts app, that says: when a message containing these words arrives, hand it to Monee. Only messages matching those words are ever sent, and only the amount, merchant and date are kept from them.
No — and you could not if you tried. Monee has no bank integration, no open-banking connection, and no field anywhere that accepts banking credentials. It works from the alerts your bank already sends you, and from whatever you type in yourself.
Not today. Monee is built for iPhone, and the automatic capture feature depends on Apple's Shortcuts in a way that has no straight equivalent elsewhere. If that changes, this is where it will say so.
Nothing is deleted. Every transaction, category, tag and budget stays exactly where it is. The Pro features simply stop at the end of the period you paid for, and the app carries on as the free version. If you subscribe again later, everything is still there.
From your profile, export your data. Monee gathers your transactions, categories, tags and budgets into a single file and hands it to the iOS share sheet, so you can save it, email it, or drop it into a spreadsheet. The file is removed from the app once you have it.
Profile, then Delete account. It is a genuine deletion — your account and everything attached to it is removed from our database, not marked as inactive and kept. That is deliberate, and it is irreversible, so export first if you want a copy.
